Reporting Certifications

The National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) is committed to being the leader in advancing the profession of those who capture and integrate the spoken word into a comprehensive and accurate information base for the benefit of the public and private sectors.

NCRA accomplishes this through ethical standards, testing and certification, educational opportunities, communications, government relations, research and analysis, and fiscal responsibility. The NCRA administers a series of certifications which assure consumers of reporting services of the level of expertise a reporter possesses.

All NCRA certification holders are required to attain 30 hours of continuing education through seminars or other approved courses of study every three years

.

Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) conferred by the NCRA

The Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) exam is a nationally recognized certification validating reporter competency. Each RPR candidate must be an NCRA member in good standing, pass a written exam on a wide range of reporting-related subjects and prove his or her competence by reporting and transcribing material dictated at speeds up to 225 words per minute with 95% accuracy.

In addition to the State of Iowa certification of Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR), several court reporters at Susan Frye and Associates, Inc., have the RPR certification.

I value the service provided by Susan Frye and Associates. I have used them for many years. The reporters are highly qualified, professional, and willing to get the transcripts completed in a timely manner.
